The Banco de la República Cultural Center in Montería is a space with a clear mission of service to research and contribute to the recovery, preservation, and dissemination of Cordoba’s cultural heritage. Its facilities offer access to the entire catalogue of Banco de la República’s Library Network, in addition to the Orlando Fals Borda Regional Documentation Center, an important documentary collection on the region that includes the archive of Orlando Fals Borda, the renowned sociologist. This collection is an important resource for social researchers in Colombia, since through it the local-regional collection is disseminated and research activities are encouraged among the community of researchers, scholars, and research centers. In addition, the center offers concerts, exhibitions, and workshops that help to establish it as a place of culture and knowledge.
The Banco de la República Cultural Center in Montería is located in the center of the city, very close to the main park and Ronda del Sinú, a place that lends itself to reading activities in the park. The center is near several banks, educational institutions such as the National Unified Corporation of Higher Education (CUN), Technological Corporation of Córdoba, Caribbean University Corporation (CECAR), Rémington University Corporation, National Institute of Education and Polytechnic Improvement (INDES), University Corporation of Science and Development, Antioquia Information Technology Center (CENSA), David Martinez Departmental Library, and the Monteria Historical Archives.
