Quimbaya Gold Museum permanent exhibition
The Quimbaya Gold Museum is back with a new, permanent exhibition: Ancient Ways of Life in the mid-Cauca Region.

The exhibition transports us back 12,000 years, as we discover the first settlers in the region and learn how their multifunctional stone tools enabled an enormous step forward to be taken in our history: agriculture! At 7,100 years' old, these tools are the oldest objects in the Gold Museum collection. We then move on to times when large golden objects were used and learn the sacred meaning these artefacts which identify us once had. In the most recent period, the profusion of metal ornaments and piercings of the Quimbayas and other groups enable us to build a history that we are all part of.
Texts in the permanent exhibitions are bilingual, Spanish and English.
